The JSON Data Type in Mysql 5.7
As of Mysql 5.7.8, MySQL supports a native JSON data type that enables efficient access to data in JSON documents. These are the advantages over storing JSON in a string column:
1. Automatic validation of JSON doc
2. Optimized storage format, it is converted to an internal format that permits quick read access to the document elements.
